Butter and honey
shall he eat
And the Lord appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he
sat in the tent door in the heat
of the day;
And he
- lift
up his eyes -
and looked, and, lo, three men
stood by him:
**
And he
said, What pledge shall I - give thee? And she
said, Thy
signet, and thy bracelets,
and thy staff that is in
thine hand. And he gave it her, and came in unto her, and she conceived - by him.
**
Then Joseph -
could not refrain him-self before - all them that stood by him; and he
cried, - Cause
every man - to go out from me. And - there - stood no man with him, - while Joseph made himself - known unto his brethren.
And he
wept
aloud: and the Egyptians and
the house of Pharaoh heard.
**
and when he saw them,
he ran to meet them - from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,
And said, My
Lord, if now I
have found favour in thy sight, pass not away,
I pray thee, from
- thy servant:
And Abraham - ran unto the herd, and fetched a calf tender
and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.
**
Butter and honey shall he
eat, that he may know to refuse - the evil, - and choose the good.
**
And it
shall come to pass, for the abundance
of milk that they
shall give he shall eat butter: for butter
and honey shall - every one eat that
is left in the land.
**
And he
took - butter,
and milk, and
the calf which he had dressed,
and set it - before
them; and he stood - by them - under the tree, and - they did eat.
And they said unto him, - Where
is Sarah thy wife?
And he
said, Behold, - in
the tent.
*****
And
the son said unto him, Father, I
have sinned
again-st
heaven,
and
in thy sight,
and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
