and they wept
And
when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive,
he armed
his trained servants, born in
his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.
And
he
divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah,
which is on the left
hand
of Damascus.
***
And
he said, Appoint me
- thy wages,
and I will give it.
And
he
said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me.
For
it was little which thou hadst before
I
came, and it
is
now increased unto a multitude; and the Lord hath blessed
thee since my
coming:
and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?
*****
And
when he came
- to himself, - he said, How many hired servants of my father's
have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
I will arise and
go
to my father,
and will say unto him, Father,
I have sinned against heaven,
and before thee,
And
am
no more worthy to be called
thy
son:
make
me as
one of thy hired servants.
*****
And
he
passed over - before them,
and bowed himself to the ground
seven times, until he
came near
to his brother.
And
Esau - ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him:
*
Therefore
shall a man leave his father
and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife:
and
they shall be one flesh.
*
And
they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the offspring
and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
*
and
they
wept.
And
he lifted up his eyes, and saw
the work-men and the children;
and said, Who are those with thee? And
he said, The children which God hath graciously given thy servant.
*****
And
he
arose,
and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off,
- his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
