riotous living
And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children
of Israel together, and said unto them,
These
are the words which the Lord hath commanded, that ye should do them.
Six
days
shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the Lord: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
*
But
there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
*
As
for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under
it is
turned
up as it were fire.
The stones of it
are
the place of sapphires: and it
hath
dust of gold.
There
is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen: The lion’s whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.
*
Ye
shall kindle no fire throughout your
habitations upon the sabbath day.
**
And my hand
hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth;
and there was none that moved the wing, or opened
the mouth, or peeped.
**
And
God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above
the firmament: and it
was so.
**
The Lord
looked down from heaven upon the children
of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.
They are all gone
aside, they are all together become filthy: there
is none that doeth good, no, not one.
Have
all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my
people as they eat bread, and call not upon the Lord.
There were they
in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous.
**
And Adam called
his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
**
And
not
many days after the younger
son gathered
all together, and
took his journey into a far country,
and there wasted
his substance with riotous living.
