and
took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
And
Abel, he also
brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord
had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
But unto Cain and to his offering - he had not respect.
*
And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both
their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness
of their
father;
*
Then
Jacob
said unto his household, and to
all that were with him, Put away the strange
gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
*****
And
when the king came in to see the guests, he
saw there a man
which
- had
not on
a wedding
garment:
*****
And
also that nation,
whom they shall serve, will I judge:
and afterward shall they come out with great substance.
And
thou shalt go to thy fathers
in peace; thou
shalt
be buried in a good old age.
But in the fourth generation they shall come hither - again:
**
But thou, Israel,
art my servant,
Jacob whom I have chosen, - the seed
of Abraham my
friend.
**
Hearken
unto me, O Jacob and Israel, my called; I am
he;
I
am the first,
I
also am the last.
Mine
hand also hath laid the foundation
of the earth, and my right
hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
*****
And
he saith unto him, Friend,
how camest
thou in hither not having
a
wedding garment? And he was speechless.
Then said the king to the servants,
Bind
him hand and foot, and take him away,
and cast him into outer darkness; - there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
*****
Serve
the Lord
with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss
the Son, lest he be angry,
and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled
but a little. Blessed are all they that put their
trust in him.
Lord,
how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up
against me.
Many
- there
be which
say of my soul, - There is no help - for him in God. Selah.
*****
For
many are called, but few are chosen.
*****
Speak
unto the children of Israel, that they
turn and encamp before Pihahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, over against
Baalzephon: before it shall ye encamp by the sea.
For
Pharaoh
will say of the children of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut them in.
And
I will harden Pharaoh's heart, that he shall follow after them; and I will be honoured upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host; that the Egyptians
may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.
*****
Then
went
the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle
him in his talk.
