What
could have been done more
to
my vineyard, that I have not
done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it
forth wild
grapes?
And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will
take away the hedge thereof, and it
shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it
shall be trodden down:
And I will
lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also
command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
For the
vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold
oppression; for righteousness,
but behold a cry.

thou hast done this,
thou art
cursed above all
cattle, and above every

dust shalt thou eat
all the days of thy life:
**
And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded
thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it:
cursed is the ground - for thy sake;
in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
**
And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;

the fishes of the sea; into your
hand are they delivered.

said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

churl
(churl)n. 1. A rude, boorish person. See Synonyms at
boor. 2. A miserly person. 3. A ceorl. A medieval English peasant.
The
vile person shall be
no more called liberal, nor the churl
said to be bountiful.
For the vile person will speak villainy, and his heart will work iniquity,
to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord, to make empty the soul of
the hungry, and he
will cause the drink of the thirsty
to fail.

and God divided the light - from the darkness.
*****
And the
king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me
the persons, and take the goods to thyself.
And Abram said
to the king of Sodom, I have lift up
mine hand unto the Lord,
the most high God, the possessor
of heaven and earth,
That I will not take from a thread
even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:
Save only that which the
young men have eaten, and the portion of the men which went with me, Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre; let them take their portion.
After these things the
word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision,
saying,
Fear not, Abram: I am thy
shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
