Sermon on the mount IV

Ye - ye
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.
And he said unto the work-man, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of - the garden?

And the work-man said unto the serpent, We may eat of - the fruit - of the trees - of the garden:

ye
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. . . .
*****
Lo, mine eye - hath seen all this, - mine ear hath heard and understood it. - What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you. Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God. But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians - of no value.
O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom. Hear - now - my reasoning, - and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.
Will ye speak - wickedly - for God? and talk deceitfully - for him?
Will ye accept his person?
will ye contend for God?
Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh an-other, do ye so mock him?
He will surely reprove you, - if ye do secretly accept persons. Shall not his excellency make you afraid? - and his dread fall upon you?
Your - remembrances are - like unto ashes, - your bodies to bodies of clay. - Hold your peace, - let me alone, - that I may speak, - and let come on me what will.
Where-fore - do I take my flesh in - my teeth, and put my life - in mine hand? Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways be-fore him. He RA also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come be-fore him.
*****
And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah - and Zillah, Hear my voice; - ye wives of Lamech, - hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, - and a young man to my hurt.
*****

Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears. Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.
Who is he that will plead with me? - for now,- if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost. Only do not - two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee.
Withdraw thine hand far from me: - and let not thy dread make me afraid. Then call thou, - and I will answer: - or let me speak, - and answer thou - me. How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know - my transgression and my sin. Where-fore hidest thou - thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?
*****
ye
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
neither shall - ye - touch - it, - lest ye die. . . .

For God doth know that in the day ye - eat there-of, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing - good and evil.

ye
Blessed are ye, - when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner - of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were be-fore you.
Ye
All these were joined together in the vale of Siddim, which is the salt sea.
Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year - they rebelled.
pil-lar
(pilr)n. 1. A slender, freestanding, vertical support; a column. Such a structure or one similar to it used for decoration. 2. One who occupies a central or responsible position: a pillar of the state.

And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
But his wife - looked back - from - behind him, and she became a pillar - of salt.

Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savIour, where-with shall it be salted?

and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.

it is thence-forth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot - be hid.

And God said, - Let there - be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light - from the darkness.

Neither do men - light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light - so - shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Think not that I am - come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily-  I say unto you, - Till heaven - and earth pass, -one - jot or one - tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be ful-filled.
