Burnt offerings XIII

And he said,
Who told thee that thou wast naked?
***
And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, - made he a workman, and brought her unto the man.
*****
Then Naomi her mother in law
said unto her,
My daughter,
shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?
*****
And Adam said,
This is now bone of my bones,
and flesh of my flesh:
she shall be called Woman,
because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother,
and shall cleave unto his wife:
and they shall be one flesh.

*****
And now is not Boaz of our kindred,  with whose maidens - thou wast?
*******
And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower,
which the children of men builded.
***
My heart panted, fearfulness ffrighted me:
the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me.
Prepare the table,
***
For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness,
so that there is no place clean.
Whom shall he teach knowledge?
and whom shall he make to understand doctrine?
them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
For precept must be upon precept,
precept upon precept;
line upon line,
line upon line;
here a little,
and there a little:
For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
To whom he said,
This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest;
and this is the refreshing:
yet they would not hear.
But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept,
precept upon precept;
line upon line,
line upon line;
here a little,
and there a little;
that they might go,
and fall backward,
and be broken,
and snared,
and taken.
Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

***
watch in the watchtower,
eat,
drink: arise, ye princes,
and anoint the shield.

For thus hath the Lord
said unto me,
Go, set a watchman,
let him declare what he seeth.
And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen,
a chariot of asses,
and a chariot of camels;
and he hearkened diligently with much heed:
And he cried,
A lion:
My lord,
I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights:
And, behold,
here cometh a chariot of men,
with a couple of horsemen.
And he answered and said,
Babylon is fallen,
is fallen;
and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground.

O my threshing,
and the corn of my floor:
that which I have heard of the Lord of hosts,
the God of Israel,
have I declared unto you.

*****
And she went down unto the floor,

and did according to all that her mother in law bade her.
*****
And Noah began to be an husbandman,
and he planted a vineyard:
And he drank of the wine,
and was drunken;
and he was uncovered within his tent.
***
God shall enlarge Japheth,
and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem;
and Canaan shall be his servant.

*****
And when Boaz had eaten and drunk,
and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn:
and she came softly, and uncovered his feet,
and laid her down.
