that all the world should be taxed.

every one into his own city.

The young and the old lie on the ground in - the streets:

my virgins - and my young men are fallen by the sword; thou hast slain them in the day of thine anger;

Thou hast called as in a solemn day my terrors round about,

so that in the day of the Lord's anger none escaped nor remained:

those that I have swaddled and brought up - hath mine enemy consumed.

And as for thy nativity,

in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut,

neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee;

None eye pitied thee,

then your eyes shall be opened,

which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;

And the Lord said unto Abram,

after - that Lot was separated - from him,

Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward,

and eastward,

For all the land which thou seest,

to thee will I give it,

and to thy seed for ever.

and saw thee polluted in thine - own blood,

And the Lord said unto Cain, -

Where - is Abel thy brother?

And he said,

I know not:

Am I  my brother's keeper?

And he said,

What hast thou done?

the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me - from the ground.

And now art thou cursed from the earth,

which hath opened her mouth -  to receive - thy brother's blood from thy hand;

I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood,

Live;

yea,

I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood,

Live.

I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field,

and thou hast increased and waxen great,

and thou art come to excellent ornaments:

thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, . . .

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God - had made.

Now reading from the scriptures

And he said unto

the workman,

Yea,

hath God said,

Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

And the workman said unto the serpent,

We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden,

God hath said,

Ye shall not eat of it,

neither shall ye touch it,

lest ye die.

Subtlety

Actually it’s a lie, howbeit done with subtly.

I’ll explain in a moment

And the serpent said unto the workman,

(Subtlety at it’s finest)

Ye shall not surely die:

(Taking out all the stops)

For God - doth know  that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened,

*

and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

There it is. What the serpent fails to explain to the workmen is that ye is unable to distinguish the difference between good and evil,  and Yea, ye shall surely die

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,

and that it was pleasant to the eyes,

and a tree to be desired to make - one wise,

she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat,

and gave also unto her husband with her;

and he did eat.

And the eyes of them both were opened,

and they knew - - that they were naked;

and they sewed fig leaves together,

and made themselves aprons.

(And it came to pass)

Now the serpent

And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the - -  cool of the day: . . .

And Adam said,

This is now bone of my bones,

and flesh of my flesh:

she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

Therefore shall a man leave his father - and his mother,

and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

And they were both naked,

the man and his wife,

and were not ashamed.

. . . and Adam and his wife hid

themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

And it came to pass

And the Lord God called unto Adam,

and said unto him,

Where art thou?

And he said,

I heard thy voice in the garden,

***

Why is light given to a man whose way is hid,

and whom God hath hedged in?

For my sighing cometh before I eat,

and my roarings are poured out like the waters.

For the thing which  - I greatly feared - is come upon me,

and that which - I was afraid - of is come unto me.

I was not in safety,

neither had I rest,

neither was I quiet;

yet trouble came.

and I was afraid,

because I was naked;

and I hid myself.

***

And the Lord God commanded the man,

saying,

Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it:

for in the day that thou eatest thereof  - thou shalt surely die.

And he said,

Who told thee - that thou wast naked?

Hast thou - eaten of the tree,

whereof I commanded thee - that thou shouldest not eat?

***

And Adam called his wife's name Eve;

because she was the mother of all living.

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins,

and clothed them.

And the man said,

The woman whom thou gavest to be with me,

she gave me of the tree,

and I did eat.

And the Lord God said

unto the workman,

What is this - that thou hast - done?

And the workman said,

The serpent beguiled me,

and I did eat.

And the Lord God said unto the serpent,

Because thou hast - done this,

thou art cursed - above - all cattle,

and above - every beast of the field;

upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

whereas thou wast naked and bare.

Now when I passed by thee,

and looked upon thee,

behold,

thy time was the time of love;

and I spread my skirt - over thee,

and covered thy nakedness:

yea,

I sware unto thee,

and entered into a covenant with thee,

saith the Lord God, ISamuelyeaonamallahopia

and thou becamest mine.

Then washed I thee with water;

yea,

I throughly washed away thy blood from thee,

and I anointed thee with oil.

I clothed thee also with broidered work,

and shod thee with badgers' skin,

and I girded thee about with fine linen,

and I covered thee with silk.

I decked thee also with ornaments,

and I put bracelets upon thy hands,

and a chain on thy neck.

And I put a jewel on thy forehead,

and earrings in thine ears,

and a beautiful crown upon thine head.

Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver;

and thy raiment was of fine linen,

and silk,

and broidered work;

thou didst eat fine flour,

and honey,

and oil:

and thou wast exceeding beautiful,

· and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.

And thy renown went forth among the heathen - for thy beauty:

for it was perfect through my comeliness,

which I had put upon thee,

saith the Lord God.

 multitude of the heavenly host praising

as the angels were gone away from them

the shepherds said one to another,

Let us now go even unto Bethlehem,

and see this thing which is come to pass,
