Tribulation X

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife:
and they shall be one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
***
Now these are the generations of Esau,
who is Edom.
Esau took his wives of the daughters of Canaan; Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Aholibamah the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite;

And Bashemath Ishmael's daughter, sister of Nebajoth.

And Adah bare to Esau Eliphaz; and Bashemath bare Reuel;

And Aholibamah bare Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah: these are the sons of Esau, which were born unto him in the land of Canaan.

And Esau took his wives, and his sons, and his daughters, and all the persons of his house, and his cattle, and all his beasts, and all his substance, which he had got in the land of Canaan; and went into the country from the face of his brother Jacob.

For their riches were more than that they might dwell together; and the land wherein they were strangers could not bear them because of their cattle.

Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir:
Esau is Edom.

And these are the generations of Esau the father of the Edomites in mount Seir:
*****
Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.
*****
And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, . . . And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents, and of such as have cattle.
***
These are the names of Esau's sons; Eliphaz the son of Adah the wife of Esau, Reuel the son of Bashemath the wife of Esau.

And the sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.

And Timna was concubine to Eliphaz Esau's son; and she bare to Eliphaz Amalek: these were the sons of Adah -- Esau's wife.

And these are the sons of Reuel; Nahath, and Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah: these were the sons of Bashemath Esau's wife.
And these were the sons of Aholibamah, the daughter of Anah the daughter of Zibeon, Esau's wife: and she bare to Esau Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.

These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn son of Esau; duke Teman, duke Omar, duke Zepho, duke Kenaz,

*****
And when Joseph's brethren saw that their father was dead,
they said,

Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him.

And they sent a messenger unto Joseph,
saying,
Thy father did command before he died,
saying,

So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him.

And his brethren also went and fell down before his face;

and they said,
Behold,
we be thy servants.

And Joseph said unto them,
Fear not:
for am I in the place of God?

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.

And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father's house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.

And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation: the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.

And Joseph said unto his brethren,
I die:

and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying,
God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.

*****
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
**
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
*****
So Joseph died,
being an hundred and ten years old: and they embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt.

*****

Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name EMMANUEL.
Now when Emmanuel was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king,
behold,
there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
Saying,

Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star -- in the east, -- and are come to worship him.
When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
And they said unto him,
In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
*****
Come,
my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast.
Until God's grace comes.

*****
Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.
*****
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

*****
And they said,
Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses?  hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.
***
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
***
(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation.
And they three came out.
***
I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
***
And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.

And he said,
Hear now my words:

If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

*****
The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
Comfort ye,
comfort ye my people,
saith your God.

 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
*****
And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
***
Through the wrath of the Lord of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.
And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm:

Manasseh, Ephraim;
and
Ephraim, Manasseh:

and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
        Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!

And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?

Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.
        I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.
For he saith,
Are not my princes altogether kings?
***
And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.
***
And Joseph said unto his father,
Not so,
my father:
for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.
And his father refused,
and said,
I know it,
my son,
I know it:
he also shall become a people,
and he also shall be great:
but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he,
and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.
And he blessed them that day,

saying,
In thee shall Israel bless,

saying,
God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh:
and he set Ephraim - before Manasseh.

*****
For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand,
saying unto thee,
Fear not;
I will help thee.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Fear thou not;
for I am with thee:

be not dismayed;
for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee;

yea,
I will help thee;
yea,
I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
*****
And the Lord said,
My spirit shall not always strive with man,
for that he also is flesh:
yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
*****
Behold,
all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.

 *****
 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.
For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand,

saying unto thee,
Fear not;
I will help thee.
*****

Shew the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

***
But Sarai was barren;
she had no child.
***
Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord,

and spake,
saying,
I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation:
he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.

*****
Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife,
saith the LORD.
 *****
And he said,
I will certainly return unto
thee according to the time of life;
and, lo,
Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.
Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women.
Therefore Sarah laughed within herself,
saying,
After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?
And the Lord said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh,

saying,
Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old?
***
For God,
said she,
hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
***
Is any thing too hard for the Lord? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life,
and Sarah shall have a son.
*****
Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;
 *****
And Pharaoh called Joseph's name Zaphnathpaaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt.
*****
 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

Fear not;
for thou shalt not be ashamed:
*****
And when Abram was ninety years old and nine,
the Lord appeared to Abram,
and said unto him,

I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
*****
neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame:
*****
For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.
And Abimelech said unto Isaac,
Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.
*****
for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
*****
And unto Adam he said,
Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee,
saying,
Thou shalt not eat of it:
cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
*****

 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name;
and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel;
The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

 For the LORD hath called thee as a workman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.

 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee,
saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me:
for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
 *****
And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters.
And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth;
and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail;
***
If the men of my tabernacle said not, Oh that we had of his flesh! we cannot be satisfied. The stranger did not lodge in the street:
but I opened my doors to the traveller. If I covered my transgressions as Adam, by hiding mine iniquity in my bosom:
Did I fear a great multitude, or did the contempt of families terrify me, that I kept silence, and went not out of the door?
***
and the mountains were covered.
And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
*****
 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

 O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted,
behold,

I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.

 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.

And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD;
and great shall be the peace of thy children.

 In righteousness shalt thou be established:
thou shalt be far from oppression;
for thou shalt not fear:
and from terror;
for it shall not come near thee.

Behold,
they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

Behold,
I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD GOD

ISamuelyeaOn.
