Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:
Thus the heavens
and the earth were finished,
and all the host of them.
And on the seventh day God
ended his work which he had made;
and he rested on the seventh day
-from -all his work which - -he had
made.
God created the heaven
and the earth.
And God blessed the seventh day,
and sanctified it:
because that in
it he had rested from
all his work which God created and made.
These
are
the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created,

And God said, Let there be light:

Therefore
shall a man leave his father and his mother,
and shall cleave unto h-is wife:
and they shall be one flesh.
Again
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam,
and he slept:
and he took one of his ribs,
and closed up the flesh instead
thereof;
And Adam knew his wife again;
and she bare a son, and called h-is
name Seveth:
For
God,
said she, hath appointed me
another seed instead of Abel, . . .
And the Lord said unto Cain, . . . If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
And God made the firmament,
and divided the waters which were under
the firmament from the waters which
were above

and he called h is name Enos:
And to Seth,
to him also there was born a son;
and he called his name Enos:
then
began
m-en
to call upon the name of the Lord.
Again there
was
a day when the sons of God came to
present themselves before the Lord,
And Enoch walked with God:
and he was not;
for
God
took him.
And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; . . .
and the darkness he called Night.
and he called his name Enos:

And God called the light
Day,
and the darkness he called Night.
And the evening and the morning --were the first day.
in the day that the Lord God made the earth
. . . then began m-en to call upon the name of the Lord.
And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked;
and I hid myself.
And to Seth, to him also there was born a son;
and he called his name Enos:
then
began men to call upon the name of
the Lord.
And the Lord God took the man,
and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it
and
to keep
it.
and Satan came also among them to present him-self before the Lord.
There-fore the Lord God sent him
forth
from the garden of Eden, to till the ground
from
whence
he was taken.
And the Lord said unto Satan,
From whence comest thou?
And unto Adam he said, Because
thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife,
and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it:
cursed
is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow
shalt thou eat of it all
the days of thy life;
And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro,
until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
And Satan
answered
the Lord, and said, From going to and
fro in the earth,
I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants
upon the earth.

And the Lord God took the man,
and put him

the garden of Eden to dress it
and to keep it.
Now
when Job's three friends heard of
all this evil
that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place;
Eliphaz the Temanite,
and Bildad the Shuhite,
and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had
made an
appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.
And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, . . .
These
are the generations of Noah:
Noah
was a just man and - -perfect in -- his generations,

And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Is-ra-el:
for
as a prince hast thou power with God
and with men,
and hast prevailed.
And Jacob asked him,
and said, Tell me, I pray thee,
thy
name.
. . .
And Adam knew Eve his wife;
and she conceived, and bare Cain,
and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment
is greater than I can
bear.
Behold, thou hast driven me out this
day from the face of the earth;
and from thy face shall I be hid;

And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: . . .
And Cain said unto the Lord, My
punishment is greater than I can bear.
Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth;
and from thy face shall I be hid;
and I shall be a fugitive
and a vagabond in the earth;
and it shall come to pass,
that
every one that findeth me shall
slay me.

God face to face, and my life
is preserved.

And there came one that had escaped, and told Abram the Hebrew;
For
the Lord thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine
enemies before thee;
therefore
shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn
away from thee.

And the Spirit of God moved
upon the face of the waters.
And the earth was without
form, . . .
And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they
lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one --his mantle, and sprinkled dust
upon their heads toward heaven.
So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights,
and none spake a word unto him:
for they saw
that his grief was very great.
. . . and void;
And the Spirit of God moved upon
the face of the waters.
And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of
fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth
upon the earth, and every man:
All
in
whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in
the dry land, died.

I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go,

And it came to pass, as soon as he
had made an end of offering the burnt offering,
that
Jehu
said to the guard and to the captains, Go

And they smote them with the

and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the

And Adam said, This is now bone

the greater light to rule
