for thee have I seen righteous -
before me - in this
generation.
I do set my bow in the cloud,
and it shall be for
a token of a covenant - between
me - and the earth.
And it shall come to
pass,
when I bring a cloud over the
earth,
that the bow shall be
seen in
the cloud:
And I will remember my
covenant,
which is - between
me - and you and every living creature of
all flesh;
and the waters shall no
more become a flood to
destroy all flesh.
And his father refused,
and said,
I know it,
my son,
I know it:
And when the woman
saw that the tree w-as good - for food,
and that
it was pleasant to the eyes,
I am not inferior un-to
you.
Surely I would speak to the Almighty,
and I
desire to reason with God.
But ye are forgers of lies,
ye are all physicians of no
value.
and a tree to
be desired to make one
wise,
she took of the fruit thereof,
and did
eat,
and gave also unto her husband
with her;
and he did
eat.
And
when the wife of Uriah
heard that Uriah her
husband was dead,
And unto Adam he said, Because thou
hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife,
and hast eaten
of the tree,
of which I commanded thee,
saying,
Thou shalt not eat of
it:
cursed is the ground for
thy sake;
in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy
life;
she mourned - for
her husband.
Let a little water,
I pray
you,
be fetched,
and wash your feet,
and rest yourselves under the tree:
And I will fetch a morsel of bread,
and comfort
ye your hearts;
after that ye shall pass on:
for therefore are ye come to your
servant.
And they said,
So do, - as thou hast said.
And
when the mourning w-as past,
And the Lord
God formed man of the dust of
the ground,
And Abraham ran unto the herd,
and fetched a calf tender and good,
and gave it unto a young
man;
and he hasted to
dress it.
David sent and fetched her to his
house,
and she became his wife,
So God created man in his
own image,
in the image of God created
he him;
and breathed into
his nostrils the breath of
life;
and man became a living soul.
and bare him a son.
dis-please
(dis-plez)v. dis-pleased, dis-pleas-ing, dis-pleas-es.v. tr. To cause annoyance or vexation to.v. intr. To cause annoyance or displeasure.
But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord.
And the Lord sent Nathan unto David.
And he came unto him,
and said un-to him,
There were two
men in one city;
the one
rich,
and the other poor.
And Ab-el,
he also brought of the firstlings of his flock
and of the fat
there-of.
And God
created great whales,
and every
living creature that moveth,
and he called his
name Enos:
then began men to
call upon the name of the Lord.
I am as one mocked
of his neighbour,
who calleth upon
God,
and he answereth him:
the just upright man is
laughed to scorn.
The rich man had exceeding many
flocks and her-ds:
But the poor
man had nothing,
save one little ewe lamb,
And the days of
Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight
hundred years:
and he begat
sons and daughters:
That the sons of God
saw the daughters of men that
they were fair;
and they
took them wives of all which they
chose.
And he that
is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every
man child in your generations, he that
is born in the house,
or bought with money of any
stranger,
which is not of thy
seed.
which he had bought and nourished up:
and it
grew up together with him,
and with his children;
it did eat of
his own meat,
and drank of
his own cup,
and
lay in his bosom,
and
w-as unto him as a
daughter.
and afterward were
the families of the Canaanites spread
abroad.
And there came a
traveller unto the rich man,
So God created man in his
own image,
and he spared to
take of his own flock
and of his
own herd,
And the Lord
God took the man,
and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it - and to keep it.
And the Lord
God commanded the man,
saying,
Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the
tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
thou shalt
not eat of it:
for in
the day that thou
eatest thereof thou
shalt surely die.
to dress for the wayfaring
man that was come unto him;
but took the poor man's lamb,
and dressed
it for the man that was
come to him.
an-ger
anggr)n. A strong feeling of displeasure or hostility.v. an-gered, an-ger-ing, an-gers.v. tr. To make angry; enrage
or provoke.v. intr. To
become angry: She angers too quickly.[Middle English, from
Old Norse angr,
sorrow. See angh-.]
And David's anger was greatly
kindled against the man;
and he said
to Nathan,
And the Lord
God said un-to the serpent, Because thou hast
done this,
thou art cursed above all cattle,
and above
every beast of the field;
Why died I
not from the
womb?
why did I not give up the
ghost when I came out of the belly?
up-on thy belly shalt thou go,
and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
thee
And I will put
enmity - between - thee and the woman,
and between thy seed - and her seed;
it shall bruise thy
head,
and thou shalt bruise his heel.
This twenty
years have I been with thee;
thy
ewes - and thy
she goats have not cast their young,
and the rams of
thy flock have I not eaten.
And I will put
enmity - between - thee and the woman,
and between thy seed - and her seed;
it shall bruise thy
head,
and thou shalt bruise his heel.
As the
Lord liveth,
the man
that hath done this thing shall surely die:
And he shall restore the lamb fourfold,
because he did this
thing,
and because he had
no pity.
And
Nathan said to David,
I have said to corruption,
Thou art my
father:
to the worm,
Thou art my mother,
and my
sister.
And where is now my
hope?
as for my hope,
who shall see
it?
They shall go
down to the bars of
the pit,
when our rest together is
in the dust.
Thou art the
man.
Thus saith the Lord
God of Is ra el,
I anointed thee king
over Israel,
and I delivered
thee out of the hand of Saul;
And I
gave thee thy master's house,
and thy master's
wives into thy bosom,
and
gave thee the house of Israel
and of
Judah;
and if that
had been too little,
I would moreover have given unto
thee such and such things.
and beast of the earth after his kind:
and it
was so.
Where-fore hast thou despised
the commandment of the Lord,
Now the
serpent was more subtil than any beast of
the field which the Lord God had made.
to do evil in
his sight?
thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the
sword,
and hast taken
his wife to be thy wife,
And the younger,
she also bare a
son,
and called his name Benammi:
the same is the father
of the children of Ammon un-to
this day.
and hast slain him with
the sword of
the children of Ammon.
Now
Now therefore the sword shall never depart from
thine house; because
thou hast despised
me,
and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to
be thy wife.
Thus saith the Lord,
Behold,
I will raise
up evil against thee out of
thine own house,
and I will take thy
wives before thine
eyes,
and
give them un-to thy
neighbour,
and he shall lie with thy
wives in the sight of
this sun.
For thou didst it secretly:
but I will do
this thing before all Israel,
and before the sun.
And David said unto Nathan,
I have sinned against the Lord.
And
Nathan said unto David,
The Lord
also hath put away thy sin;
thou shalt not die.
Now the serpent was more
subtil than any beast of
the field which the Lord
God had made.
Howbeit,
because by this
deed thou hast given great
occasion to the enemies of
the Lord to blaspheme,
the
child also that is born unto thee shall surely die.
