And God said, Let there be a
firmament in the midst of the waters,
and
let it divide the waters from the waters.
And
one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam,
the wife of Uriah the Hittite?
then he put forth his hand,
and
took her,
and
pulled her in unto him into
the ark.
And
David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him,
and
he lay with her;

And
Adam knew his wife again;
and
she bare a son,
and
called his name Seth:
For
God,
said she,
hath appointed me
another seed instead of Abel,
whom
Cain slew.
Behold,
thou hast driven me out
this day from the face of the earth;
and
from thy face shall I be hid;
and
I
shall be a fugitive - and a vagabond in the earth;

And
the Lord God formed man of the dust
of the ground,

and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and
man became a living so-ul.

and
it shall come to pass,
that
every one that findeth me
shall slay me.
And
the Lord said unto him,
Therefore
whosoever slayeth Cain,
vengeance
shall be taken on him sevenfold.
And
Lamech said unto his wives,
Adah and
Zillah,
Hear
my voice;
ye
wives of Lamech,
hearken
unto my speech:
for
I
have slain a man to my wounding,
and
a young man to my hurt.
If
Cain
shall be avenged sevenfold,
truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold.
The troops of Tema looked, the companies of Sheba waited for them.
They
were confounded because they had hoped;
they
came thither,
and
were ashamed.
For
now ye are nothing; ye
see my
casting down, and are afraid.
And
Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord.
And
the woman conceived,
and
sent and told David,
and
said,
I am with child.
. . . and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the
air, and over every living thing that moveth
upon the earth.
But
of the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden,
God
hath said,
Ye
shall not eat of it,
neither shall ye touch it,
lest ye die.
But
flesh with the life
thereof, which is
the blood thereof, shall ye not
eat.
And
the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
And
surely your blood of your lives will I require;
at the hand of every beast will I require it,
and
at the hand of man;
at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.
Whoso
sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed:
for
in the
image of God - made he man.
Whosoever
touch-eth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself,
defileth
the tabernacle of the Lord;
and
that soul shall be cut off from Israel:
because
the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean;
his uncleanness is yet upon him.
issue
A point or matter of discussion, debate, or dispute:
legal and moral issues. A matter of
public concern: refused to address the economic issues. The
essential point; crux: the issue of how to provide adequate child care.
A culminating point leading to a decision: bring a case to an issue.
And
his father refused,
and
said,
I
know it,
my
son,
I know
it:
God
make
thee as
Ephraim
and as Man-as-seth:
and
he set Ephraim - before - Manasseh.
The blessings of thy father have prevailed
above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of
the everlasting hills:
they
shall be on the head of Joseph,
and
on the crown of the head of him
that was separate from his brethren.
And
Israel journeyed,
and
spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar.
And if a
woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation,
or if it run beyond the time
of her separation;
all
the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her
separation:
she
shall be unclean.
Every
bed
whereon she lieth all the days of her
issue shall be unto her as the bed of her separation:
and
whatsoever she sitteth up-on shall be unclean,
as
the uncleanness of her separation.
And whosoever toucheth those things shall be
unclean, and shall wash his clothes,
and
bathe
himself in water,
and
be unclean until the even.
But
if
she be cleansed of her issue,
then
she shall number to herself seven days,
and
after
that she shall be clean.
And
the name of the third river is Hiddekel:
that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria.
Behold,
thou hast driven me out
this day from the face of the earth;
Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him,
Put
away
the strange gods that are among you, and be clean,
and
change your
garments:
. . . nevertheless
it shall be purified with the water
of separation:
and
all that abideth not
the fire ye
shall make go through the water.
And
ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and after-ward ye shall come into the camp.
for
she was purified from her uncleanness:
And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man,
made
he
a woman,
and
brought her unto the man.
I
know it,
my
son,
I know
it:
See now that I,
even
I,
am
he,
and
there is no god with me:
I
kill,
and
I make alive;
I
wound,
and
I heal:
neither
is there any that
can deliver out of my hand.
and
she re-turned unto her house.
