IsIn

the

beginning

*

And

the

beginning

of

his

kingdom

was

Babel,

and Erech,

and Accad,

and Calneh,

in

the

land of Shinar.

*

Reuben,

thou art

my firstborn,

my might,

and

the

beginning

of

my strength,

the excellency

of

dignity,

and the

excellency

of

power:

*

yea,

they have slain

the

servants

with the

edge

of the

sword;

and I only

am

escaped

alone

to

tell thee.

*

yea,

all

that a man

hath

will

he

give

for

his life.

But put

forth

thine hand

now,

*

And he said,

Who told

Thee

 that thou

wast naked?

*

and

he

will curse

thee

to

thy face.

*

But put forth thine hand

now,

 and touch

his bone

and his flesh,

and

he

will curse

thee

to

thy face.

And

The

Lord

said

unto Satan,

Behold,

he

isin

thine hand;

but save

his life.

So God

created

man

in

his

own image,

in

the image

of

God

created

he

him;

*

Then said

I,

Ah,

Lord God!

behold,

I

cannot speak:

for

I am

a

child.

But the Lord

said

unto

me,

Say not,

I

am

a child:

for thou

shalt

go to all

that I

shall send

thee,

and whatsoever

I

command

thee

thou

shalt speak.

Be not afraid

of

their faces:

for I am

 with thee

to

deliver thee,

saith

the

Lord ISamuelallah

Then

the

Lord put forth

his hand,

and

touched my mouth.

And the Lord

said

unto me,

Behold,

I

have put

my

words

in

thy mouth.

See,

I

have

this day

set thee

over the nations

and over

the

kingdoms,

to root out,

and to pull down,

and to destroy,

and to throw down,

to build,

and to plant.

*

I

will make

him

an

help

meet

**

I

have made

the earth,

the man

and the

beast

that are upon

the

ground,

by

my

great power

and by

my

outstretched arm,

and have given

it

unto

whom

 it

 seemed

meet

unto

me.

**

for

him.

**

and

were not

as

ham

**

And

the

Spirit

of

God

moved

upon the face

of the

waters.

**

In

the

sweat

of

thy face

shalt thou

eat bread,

**

And Adam

lived an hundred

and thirty years,

and begat

a son

in

his own

likeness,

after

his

 image;

and called his name

Seth:

And

to

Seth,

to

him also

there

was

born a son;

and

he called

his

name Enos:

then began

men

to

call upon

the

name

of

the

Lord.

**

The

name

of the

first

is

Pison:

*

And it came

to

pass after

these things,

she

hath also

born children

unto

thy brother

Nahor;

Huz

his firstborn,

and

Buz his brother,

and Kemuel

the

father

of

Aram,

And Chesed,

and Hazo,

and Pildash,

and Jidlaph,

and Bethuel.

And Bethuel

begat

Rebekah:

**

that

isit

which

compasseth

the

whole land

of

Havilah,

where

there

is gold;

And the gold

 of

that land

is

good:

there

is

bdellium

and the

onyx stone.

**

And Enos lived ninety years,

and begat

Cainan:

And Enos lived

after

he

begat

Cainan

eight hundred

and fifteen years,

and begat

sons and daughters:

***

And to Seth,

to

him

also

there

was

born a son;

*

and the

darkness

he called

Night.

**

and

he called

his name

Enos:

then began

men

to

call

upon

the

name

of

the

Lord.

*

For God

doth

know that

in

the day

ye

eat thereof,

then

your eyes

shall be

opened,

and

ye

shall be

as

gods,

knowing

good

and

evil.

*

For God,

said

she,

hath appointed

me

another seed

instead

of

Abel,

whom

Cain slew.

**

our father

drink wine,

and

****

sin lieth

at the

door.

*****

we

will lie

with

him,

*

And God said,

Let us make man

in our image,

after our likeness:

that we

may

preserve

seed

of

our father.

And they made

their father

drink

wine

that night:

And

the

younger,

she

also bare

a

son,

and called

his

name

Benammi:

the same

is

the

father

of the

children

of

Ammon

unto this day.

**

And they

said

one

to

another,

Behold,

this

dreamer cometh.

Come

now

therefore,

and

let us

slay him,

and cast

him into

some pit,

and we

will say,

Some evil beast

hath

devoured him:

and

we

 shall see

what

will

become

of

his dreams.

And Reuben

heard

it,

*

Whoso sheddeth man's blood,

by

man shall

his blood

be shed:

***

and he

delivered

him

out

of

their hands;

**

And

the

angel

of the

Lord

found

her

by

a

fountain

of

water

in the

wilderness,

by the

fountain

in

the way

to

Shur.

*

and said,

Let us

not kill

him.

And

Reuben

said

unto them,

Shed no blood,

 but cast

him

into

this pit

that

isin

the wilderness,

*

For all the wells

which his

father's servants

had digged

in the days

of

Abraham his father,

the

Philistines

had

stopped them,

and filled them

with earth.

*

*

and

lay no

hand

upon him;

that he

might

rid him

out of

their

hands,

to

deliver

him

to

his father again.

**

And

now

go to;

I

will tell you what

I

will do to my vineyard:

I

will

take away

the

hedge thereof,

and

it

shall

 be

eaten up;

and break down

the

wall thereof,

and

it

shall

be

trodden down:

And

I

will lay

it waste:

it

shall not

be

pruned,

nor digged;

but there

shall come

up

briers

and thorns:

I

will also

command

the

clouds

that they

rain

no

rain

upon it.

For

the

vineyard

of the

Lord

of

hosts

is

the

house

of

Israel,

and the men

of

Judah

his

pleasant plant:

and

he

looked

for

judgment,

but behold

oppression;

for

righteousness,

but behold

a

cry.

Woe

unto them

that join

house to house,

that lay

field

to

field,

till

there

be

no place,

that they

may be placed

alone

in

the

midst

of the

earth!

***

And it came

to

pass when

Joseph

was come

unto his brethren,

that they

stripped

Joseph

out

of

his coat,

his coat

of

many colours

that was

on

him;

**

Unto Adam also

and

to

his wife did

the

Lord God

make coats

of

skins,

and

clothed them.

**

And they

took him,

and cast

him into

a pit:

and the pit was empty,

there

was no water
