Emmanuel said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

And Leah conceived,

and bare a son,

and she called his name Reuben: for she said,

Surely the Lord hath looked upon my affliction;

now therefore my husband will love me.

Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them,

nor serve them:

for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God,

visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me,

and keep my commandments.

By me princes rule,

and nobles,

even all the judges of the earth.

I love them that love me;

and those that seek me early shall find me.

I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance;

and I will fill their treasures.

The Lord possessed me - in the beginning - of his way,

before his works of old.

He hath shewed thee,

O man,

what is good;

and what doth the Lord require of thee,

but to do justly,

and to love mercy,

and to walk humbly with thy God?

The Lord's voice crieth unto the city,

and the man of wisdom shall see thy name:

hear ye the rod,

and who hath appointed it.
