The War in Shinar, aka
Iraq has begun in earnest
And there shall be upon every high mountain, and
upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great
slaughter, when the towers fall. Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken,
ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all
things that come forth of it. For the indignation of the LORD is upon all
nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he
hath delivered them to the slaughter.
***
And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one
in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said,
Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.
And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and
Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
***
And the whole earth was of one language, and of one
speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a
plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
***
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord
shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people,
which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from
Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of
the sea.

In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of
Judah came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon unto Jerusalem, and besieged it. And
the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with part of the vessels
of the house of God: which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of
his god; and he brought the vessels into the treasure house of his god.
***
Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold,
there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings
like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and
the heaven.
Then said I to the angel that talked with me,
Whither do these bear the ephah?
And he said unto me, To build it an house in the
land of Shinar: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base.
***
And I turned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked,
and, behold, there came four chariots out from between two mountains; and the
mountains were mountains of brass. In the first chariot were red horses; and in
the second chariot black horses; And in the third chariot white horses; and in
the fourth chariot grisled and bay horses.
***
Then I answered and said unto the angel that talked
with me, What are these, my lord? And the angel answered and said unto me These
are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the
Lord of all the earth. he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build
the temple of the Lord: Even he shall build the temple of the Lord; and he
shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a
priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
***
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and
shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For
wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and
the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and
the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
***
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in
heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see
the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And
he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather
together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch
is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
