If

thou doest well,

shalt thou not be accepted?

and

if

thou doest not well,

sin lieth

at the

door.

And unto

thee

shall

be his

desire,

and thou

shalt rule over him.

**

And thou

shalt

be

brought down,

and shalt speak

out

of the

ground,

and thy speech

shall be

low out

of

the dust,

and thy voice shall be,

as

of

one

that hath

a

familiar spirit,

out

of the

ground,

and thy speech

shall

whisper

out of

the

dust.

**

A window

 shalt thou make

to the

ark,

and in

a

cubit

shalt thou

finish

it above;

and the

door

of

the ark

shalt

thou

set

in the side

thereof;

with lower,

 second,

**

Then on the third day

Abraham

lifted up his eyes,

and saw the place afar off.

***

and third stories

shalt thou

make it.

And, behold,

I,

even I,

do bring a flood

of

waters upon

the earth,

to

destroy all flesh,

wherein is

the breath

of

life,

from

under heaven;

and every thing

that

isin

the

 earth shall die.

But with

thee will

I

establish mycovenant;

and thou

shalt come

into the ark,

thou,

and thy sons,

and thy wife,

and thy sons'

wives

with thee.

Take this book

of

the law,

and put

it in

the side

of the

ark

of the

covenant

of the

Lord your God,

that it

may be there

for

a

witness against

thee.

For I

know thy rebellion,

and thy stiff neck:

behold,

while

I am

yet alive

with you

this day,

ye

have been

rebellious

against

the

Lord ISamuel;

and how much more

after my death?

Gather unto

me all

the elders

of

your tribes,

and your officers,

that I

may speak these words

in their ears,

and call

heaven

and earth

to

record

against them.

For I know

that after my death

ye

will

utterly corrupt yourselves,

and turn aside

from

the

way which

I

have commanded you;

and evil will

befall you

in the latter days;

because

ye

will do evil

in the

sight

of the

Lord,

EMMANUEL

to provoke

him to anger

through the work

of

your hands.

And when

the

sun

was going down,

a

deep sleep

fell

upon

Abram;

and,

lo,

an horror

 of

great darkness

fell upon

him.

And he

said unto

Abram,

Know

of a

surety

that thy

seed shall

be

a

stranger

in

a

land

that is not theirs,

and shall serve them;

and they shall

afflict them

four hundred years;

And also

that

nation,

whom they

shall serve,

will

ISamuelyea

judge:

and afterward shall

they

come out

with

great substance.

And thou

shalt go

to

thy fathers

in peace; . . .

But in

the

fourth

generation

they shall come hither

again:

****

And the

evening

and the

morning

were the

fourth day.

And God said,

Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament

of

heaven.

**

for the

inequity

of the

Amorites

is

not yet

full.

***

And

if

any mischief follow,

then thou

shalt give

life

for

life,

Eye

for

eye,

tooth for tooth,

hand for hand,

foot

for

foot,

Burning

for

burning,

wound

for

wound,

stripe

for

stripe.

And

if

a man

smite the eye

of his

servant,

or

the

eye

of

his maid,

that it perish;

he

shall let him

go free

for

his eye's sake.

**

And

it

came to pass,

that,

when the

sun

went down,

and it

was dark,

behold

a

smoking furnace,

***

And ere

the

lamp of God

went out

in the

temple

of

the

Lord,

where

the

ark

of

God was,

and

Samuel

was

laid down

to

sleep;

That the Lord

called Samuel:

and

he

answered,

Here am I.

And

he

ran unto

Eli,

and said,

Here

am I;

for

 thou

calledst me.

And he said,

I

called not;

lie down

again.

And

he

went

and lay down.

And the

Lord called

yet again,

Samuel.

And Samuel arose

and

went

to

Eli,

and said,

Here am I;

for thou

didst call

me.

***

Wherefore

she

said unto

Abraham,

Cast out

this

bondwoman

and

her son:

for the

son

of

this

bondwoman shall

not be heir

with

my son,

even

with Isaac.

**

And he answered,

I

called not,

my son;

lie down again.

Now Samuel

did not yet

know

the Lord,

neither

was the

word

of the

Lord

yet revealed

unto him.

And the

Lord

called

Samuel again

the

third time.

And he

arose

and went

to

Eli,

and said,

 Here am I;

for thou

didst

call me.

And Eli

perceived

that the

Lord

had called

the child.

Therefore

Eli said unto Samuel,

Go,

lie down:

and it shall be,

if

he call

thee,

 that thou

shalt

say,

Speak,

Lord;

for thy

servant heareth.

So

Samuel

went

and lay down

in

his place.

And the Lord came,

and stood,

and called

as at

other times,

Samuel,

Samuel.

Then Samuel answered,

Speak;

for thy servant

heareth.

******

and a

burning lamp

that passed

between

those pieces.

In

the

same day

the

Lord

made a covenant

with

Abram,

saying,

Unto thy seed

 have

I

given this land,

from the river

of

 Egypt

unto the

great river,

 the

river Euphrates:

The Kenites,

and the Kenizzites,

and the Kadmonites,

And the Hittites,

and the Perizzites,

and the Rephaims,

And the Amorites,

and the Canaanites,

and the Girgashites,

and the Jebusites.
