Thus saith the Lord;
Behold,
I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents,
and have mercy on his dwelling places;
***
And Jacob took a stone,
and set it up for a pillar.
And Jacob said unto his brethren,
Gather stones;
and they took stones,
and made an heap:
and they did eat there upon the heap.. . . .
. . . And Laban said,
This heap is a witness between me - and thee this day.
Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;
And Mizpah;
for - he said,
The Lord watch between me and thee,
when we are absent - one from another. . .
. . . And Laban said to Jacob,
Behold this heap,
and behold this pillar,
which I have cast betwixt me and thee;
This heap be witness,
and this pillar be witness,
that I will not pass over this heap to thee,
and that thou shalt not pass over this heap - and this pillar unto me,
for harm.
The God of Abraham,
and the God of Nahor,
the God of their father,
judge betwixt us.
And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.
********
. . . and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.
***
Then said I to the angel that talked with me,
Whither do these bear the ephah?
And he said unto me,
To build it an house in the land of Shinar:
and it shall be established,
and set there upon her own base.
**
In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood,
and like a torch of fire in a sheaf;
and they shall devour all the people round about,
on the right hand - and on the left:
**
Is not the whole land before thee?
separate thyself,
I pray thee, - from me:
if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right;
or if thou depart to the right hand,
then I will go to the left.
**
and Jerusalem shall be inhabited - again in her own place,
even in Jerusalem.
******
. . . . and returned to her own house.
Now
Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be - delivered;
and she brought forth a son.
And her neighbours - and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.
And it came to pass,
that on the eighth day - they came to circumcise the child; and they called him Zacharias,
after the name of his father.
And his mother answered - and said, . . .
**
And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel:
and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.
*******
. . . Not - so;
but he shall be called Elisha.
Devil
(And his mother answered and said, Not so; but he shall be called John .
And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.
And they made signs to his father, how he would have him called.
And he asked for a writing table, and wrote, saying, His name is John. And they marvelled all.
And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God.)
********
And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: . . .
***
For this is as the waters of Noah unto me:
for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth;
so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee,
nor rebuke thee.
For the mountains shall depart,
and the hills be removed;
but my kindness shall not depart from thee,
neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed,
saith the Lord ISamuelyeaon
that hath mercy on thee.
*
And it shall come to pass in the last days,
that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established in the top of the mountains,
and shall be exalted above the hills;
and all nations shall flow unto it.
And upon all the high mountains,
and upon all the hills that are lifted up,
And upon every high tower, and upon every fenced wall,
And upon all the ships of Tarshish,
and upon all pleasant pictures.
And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down,
and the haughtiness of men shall be made low:
and the Lord ISamuelyeaon
alone shall be exalted in that day.

. . . and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea.
And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts,
***
And he said unto them,
What manner of man was he which came up to meet you,
and told you these words?
***
And the first came out red,
all over like an hairy garment;
and they called his name Esau.
And after that came his brother out,
and his hand took hold - on Esau's heel;
and his name was called Jacob:
***
And they answered him,
He was an hairy man,
and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins.
And he said,
It is Elijah the Tishbite.
*
And it came to pass,
when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind,
that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal.
And Elijah said unto Elisha,
Tarry here,
I pray thee;
**
And Rachel died,
and was buried in the way to Ephrath,
which is Bethlehem.
**
for the Lord hath sent me to Bethel.
And Elisha said unto him,
As the Lord liveth,
and as thy soul liveth,
I will not leave thee.
So they went down to Bethel.
And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel - came forth to Elisha,
and said unto him,
Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head today?
And he said,
Yea,
I know it;
hold ye your peace.
And Elijah said unto him,
Elisha, tarry here,
I pray thee;
for the Lord hath sent me to Jericho.
And he said,
As the Lord liveth,
and as thy soul liveth,
I will not leave thee.
So they came to Jericho.
And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him,
Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head today?
And he answered,
Yea,
I know it;
hold ye your peace.
And Elijah said unto him,
Tarry, I pray thee,
here;
for the Lord hath sent me to Jordan.
And he said,
As the Lord liveth,
and as thy soul liveth,
I will not leave thee.
And they two went on.
And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went,
and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan.
And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together,
and smote the waters,
and they were divided hither and thither,
so that they two - went over - on dry ground.
And it came to pass,
when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha,
Ask what I shall do for thee,
before I be taken away - from thee.
And Elisha said,
I pray thee,
let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.
And he said,
Thou hast asked a hard thing:
nevertheless,
if thou see me when I am taken from thee,
it shall be so unto thee;
but if not,
it shall not be so.
And it came to pass,
as they still - went on,
and talked,
that,
behold,
there appeared a chariot of fire,
and horses of fire,
and
parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
And Elisha saw it,
and he cried,
My father,
my father,
the chariot of Israel,
and the horsemen thereof.
And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes,
and rent them in two pieces.
He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back,
and stood by the bank of Jordan;
***
. . . saying,
What manner of child shall this be!
And the hand of the Lord was with him.
***
A devil
And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,
And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David;
As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant;
The oath which he sware to our father Abraham,
That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,
In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us,
To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts till the day of his shewing unto Israel.
ISamuelyeaon
