But man dieth, II

But man dieth,
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
So Abram departed,
as the Lord had spoken unto him;
and Lot went with him:
and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed - out of Haran.
*****
She
And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because - she was taken out of Man.
*
There-fore shall a man - leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
**
and Adam and - his wife - hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
**
And Adam called  - his wife's - name Eve; - because she was the mother of all living.
Unto Adam also and to - his wife - did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
***
And Abram took Sarai - his wife,
*****
And Adam knew Eve his wife;
and she conceived, and bare Cain,
and said,
I have gotten a man - from the Lord.
And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.
And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord.
And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock - and of the fat thereof.
And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering:
But unto Cain and to his offering - he had not respect.
And Cain was very wroth,
and his countenance fell.
And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth?
and why is thy countenance fallen?
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted?
----
and if thou doest not well, - sin lieth at the door.
And unto thee shall be his desire,
and thou shalt rule over him.
****
Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor,
and Haran;
and Haran begat Lot.
And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.
****
And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother,
and slew him.

And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother?
**
and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan.
*
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.
***
Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.
*****
And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, - my son.
***
And he said, I know not: Am I - my brother's keeper?
***
And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew:
for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth,
and there was not a man to till the ground.
*
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
*
But - there went up a mist from the earth,
and watered the whole face of the ground.
*
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and man became a living soul.
****
And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.

***
And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a workman,
and brought her unto the man.
***
And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant - of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
**
And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;

When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.
And the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod,
on the east of Eden.

*****
and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten - in Haran;
and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.
***
And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem,
and Ham,
and Japheth:
and Ham is the father of Canaan.
These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.
***

And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.
And the Lord appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land:
and there builded he an altar unto the Lord, who appeared unto him.
*****
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them;
and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Make thee an ark of god prophet wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark,
and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.
*****
And he re-moved from thence unto a mountain - on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east:
and there he builded an altar unto the Lord,
and called upon the name of the Lord.
