For the children
of
Israel
walked in all the sins
of
Jeroboam
which he did;
they
departed
not from
them;
Until the Lord
removed
Israel
out of his
sight,
as he had
said
by
all his servants
the
prophets.
*****
And if
ye
will not for all this hearken unto
me,
but walk
contrary unto
me;
Then
I
will walk
contrary unto you
also in fury;
and I,
even I,
will chastise you seven times
for
your sins.
**
If Satan also
be
divided
against
himself,
how shall his
kingdom stand?
because
ye say
that I
cast out devils
through
Beelzebub.???
And if
I
by
Beelzebub cast out devils,
by
whom
do
your sons
cast them out?
therefore
shall they
be your judges.
***
And ye
shall eat the
flesh
of
your sons,
***
And Hamor
communed
with them,
saying,
The soul
of
my son
Shechem longeth
for
your daughter:
I
pray you give
her
him to
wife.
And make
ye marriages
with us,
and give
your daughters
unto us,
and take
our daughters
unto you.
**
and the flesh
of
your daughters
shall ye eat.
And I
will destroy
your
high places,
and cut down
your images,
and cast your
carcases
upon
the
carcases
of
your idols,
and my soul
shall
abhor you.
I
will make
your cities waste,
and bring
your
sanctuaries unto
desolation,
and I
will not smell
the savour
of
your sweet
odours.
And I
will bring
the land
into
desolation:
and your enemies
which dwell therein
shall be
astonished at it.
And I
will
scatter you among
the heathen,
and will draw out
a sword
after you:
and your land
shall be
desolate,
and your cities
waste.
Then shall the land
enjoy
her
sabbaths,
as long as
it
lieth desolate,
and ye be
in
your enemies' land;
even then shall
the
land rest,
and enjoy
her
sabbaths.
As long
as it
lieth desolate
it
shall rest;
because
it
did not rest
in
your sabbaths,
when ye dwelt
upon
it.
***
So was
Israel carried away
out of
their
own land
to
Assyria
unto this day.
And the king
of
Assyria
brought men
from Babylon,
and from Cuthah,
and from Ava,
and from Hamath,
and from Sepharvaim,
and placed them
in
the cities
of
Samaria instead
of the
children of Israel:
and they
possessed Samaria,
and dwelt
in the
cities thereof.
And so it
was
at
the beginning
of
their dwelling there,
that they
feared not the Lord:
therefore
the
Lord
sent lions among
them,
which slew some
of
them.
**
None shall
be
weary
nor stumble among
them;
none shall slumber nor
sleep;
neither shall
the girdle
of
their loins be loosed,
nor the latchet
of
their shoes
be
broken:
Whose arrows are sharp,
and
all their bows bent,
their
horses' hoofs shall
be
counted
like flint,
and
their
wheels
like
a whirlwind.
Their
roaring shall
be
like
a lion,
they
shall roar like young lions:
yea,
they
shall roar,
and
lay hold
of
the
prey,
and
shall carry it away safe,
and
none shall deliver it.
****
Wherefore
they spake
to
the
king
of Assyria,
saying,
The
nations which thou hast removed,
and
placed in
the cities
of
Samaria,
know
not the manner
of
the
God
of
the
land:
therefore
he
hath
sent lions among
them,
and,
behold,
they
slay
them,
because
they
know
not
the
manner
of
the
God
of
the
land.
Then
the
king
of Assyria
commanded,
saying,
Carry
thither
one
of
the
priests
whom
ye
brought
from thence;
and
let them go
and
dwell there,
and
let him teach
them
the
manner
of
the
God
of
the
land.
Then
one
of
the
priests
whom
they
had
carried
away
from
Samaria
came
and
dwelt
in
Bethel,
and
taught
them
how
they
should
fear
the
Lord.
Howbeit
every
nation
made
gods
of
their
own,
and
put them
in
the
houses
of
the
high
places
which
the
Samaritans
had
made,
every
nation
in
their
cities
wherein
they dwelt.
They
feared
the
Lord,
and
served
their
own gods,
after
the manner
of
the
nations
whom
they
carried
away
from
thence.
Unto
this day
they do after
the
former manners:
they
fear not
the Lord,
neither
do they
after
their statutes,
or after
their ordinances,
or after
the
law
and commandment
which the
Lord
Commanded
the
children
of
Jacob,
**
And I
will make
thy
seed to multiply
as the
stars of heaven,
and
will give unto
thy seed
all these countries;
and in
thy seed
shall
all the nations of the earth be blessed;
Because
that
Abraham
obeyed
my voice,
and kept
my charge,
my commandments,
my statutes,
and my laws.
**
Neither shall
thy name
any more
be
called
Abram,
but thy
name shall
be
Abraham;
for a
father of many nations
have
I
made thee.
******
And he
said,
Thy
name shall
be
called
no more
Jacob,
but Israel:
for
as a
prince
hast thou
power
with God
and with men,
and hast prevailed.
**
whom he
named
Israel;
With whom
the
Lord
had made
a
covenant,
and charged them,
saying,
Ye
shall not fear
other gods,
nor bow yourselves
to them,
nor serve
them,
nor
sacrifice
to
them:
But the Lord,
***
I
have given you
every herb
bearing seed,
which is upon
the face
of
all the earth,
and
every tree,
in the
which
is the
fruit of a
tree
yielding seed;
to
you it shall be for
meat.
**
And he
said,
Who told
thee
that
thou wast
naked?
***
And when
I
passed by thee,
and saw thee
polluted in thine
own blood,
I
said
unto
thee
when thou wast
in
thy blood,
Live;
yea,
I
said unto thee
when thou wast
in
thy blood,
Live.
I
have caused
thee to
multiply
as
the
bud
of the field,
and thou hast
increased
and waxen great,
and thou
art come
to
excellent ornaments:
thy breasts
are fashioned,
and thine
hair
is grown,
whereas thou
wast naked
and bare.
Now
when I passed
by
thee,
and looked
upon
thee,
behold,
thy time was the
time
of
love;
and I
spread
my skirt over
thee,
**
And he said,
Who
art thou?
And she answered,
I am
Ruth
thine handmaid:
spread therefore
thy skirt
over
thine handmaid;
for
thou art
a
near kinsman.
***
and covered
thy
nakedness:
yea,
I
sware
unto
thee,
and entered
into
a
covenant
with thee,
saith the
Lord God,
and thou
becamest mine.
Then washed
I
thee with
water;
yea,
I
throughly
washed away
thy blood
from thee,
and
I
anointed
thee with oil.
**
Ye mountains
of Gilboa,
let there
be
no dew,
***
And he came near,
and kissed him:
and he
smelled
the smell
of
his
raiment,
and blessed him,
and said,
See,
the smell
of
my son
is as
the
smell of a field
**
and
it
came to pass,
when they were
in the
field,
that Saul
rose up against
Simon
his
brother,
and slew him.
***
which the
Lord
hath blessed:
Therefore
God
give thee
of the
dew of heaven,
and the fatness
of the
earth,
and plenty
of
corn
and wine:
**
neither
let there
be
rain,
upon you,
nor
fields of offerings:
for there
the shield
of the
mighty is vilely cast
away,
the shield
of
Saul,
as though
he
had not been
anointed
with oil.
***
clothed thee
also
with
broidered work,
and shod thee
with
badgers' skin,
and I
girded thee about
with
fine linen,
and I
covered
thee
with silk.
I
decked thee
also with
ornaments,
and I
put bracelets
upon
thy hands,
**
And she
said,
Thy signet,
and thy bracelets,
and thy staff
that
isin
thine hand.
And he
gave
it
her,
and came
in
unto her,
and she
conceived
by
him.
***
and a chain on thy neck.
And I
put a jewel
on
thy forehead,
and earrings
in thine ears,
and a beautiful crown
upon
thine head.
Thus
wast thou decked
with
gold and
silver;
and thy raiment
was of
fine linen,
and silk,
and broidered work;
thou didst
eat fine flour,
and honey,
and oil:
and thou wast
exceeding beautiful,
and thou didst
prosper
into
a
kingdom.
**
who
brought
you
up out
of the
land of Egypt
with
great power
and a stretched
out arm,
him
shall
ye fear,
and him
shall
ye worship,
and to him
shall
ye do
sacrifice.
And this gospel
of the
kingdom
shall be preached
in
all the
world
for a witness
unto
all
nations;
and then shall
the end come.
When ye therefore
shall see
the
abomination
of
desolation,
spoken of by
Daniel the prophet,
stand in the holy place,
(whoso readeth,
let him
understand:)
**
And after
threescore
and two weeks
**
and make thy name great;
and thou shalt
be a
blessing:
**
shall Messiah
be
cut off,
but not
for
himself:
***
And he
said,
Thy
name shall
be
called no more
Jacob,
but Israel:
for as a
prince
hast thou
power with
God
and with men,
and hast
prevailed.
**
and the people
of the
prince
that shall come
shall
destroy
the city
and the sanctuary;
and the end thereof
shall be with a flood,
and unto
the end
of
the
war desolations
are
determined.
And he
shall
confirm the covenant
with many
for
one week:
and in
the midst
of the
week he
shall
cause
the sacrifice
and the oblation
to
cease,
and for
the
overspreading
of
abominations
he
shall make
it
desolate,
even until
the
consummation,
and that
determined
shall be
poured
upon
the desolate.
***
Bring no more
vain
oblations;
incense
is an
abomination
unto
me;
***
And to offer
all burnt
sacrifices
unto the
Lord
in the
sabbaths,
in the
new moons,
and on the set feasts,
by number,
according
to the
order commanded
unto them,
continually before
the Lord:
**
the
new moons
and sabbaths,
the calling
of
assemblies,
**
Wherefore
didst
thou
flee away secretly,
and steal
away
from me;
and didst
not tell me,
that I
might have sent
thee
away with
mirth,
and with songs,
with tabret,
and with harp?
***
I
cannot
away with;
it is
inequity,
even the solemn meeting.
