For God,

And the rib,

which the Lord God had taken from man,

made he a woman,

the man.

And Adam said,

This

of

my bones,

and flesh

of

my flesh:

she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

AnAbel was a keeper of sheep,

And Abel,

Anevery plant of the field beforit was in the earth,

anevery herb of the field beforit grew:

for the

Lord God

had not caused it to rain upon the earth,

anthere was not a man to till the ground.

But there went up a mist from the earth,

anwatered the whole face of the ground.

Woe unto them that join house to house,

field to field,

in the

midst

of

the earth!

*

anit came to pass, when they were in the field,

that Cain rose up

against

Abel

his brother,

and slew him.

*

And the Lord Adam said unto Cain,

Where

is

Abel thy brother?

*

Anhe said,

I

heard thy voice in the garden,

and

I

was afraid,

because

I

was naked;

and

I

hid myself.

And he said,

I know not:

Am

I

my

brother's keeper?

 Am I

In

God's stead,

who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the

womb?

And Cain said unto

the Lord,

My

punishment is greater than

I

can bear.

Behold,

thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth;

and

from

thy face

shall

I

be hid;

And

I

shall be a fugitive

and

a vagabond in the earth;

and

it shall come to pass,

that every one that findeth me shall slay me.

And the Lord said unto him,

Therefore whosoever slayeth Cainvengeance shall be taken on

him

sevenfold.

And the Lord set a mark upon Cain,

*

I

have sinned;

what shall I do unto thee,

O thou preserver of men?

why hast thou set me as a mark against thee,

so

I am

a

lest anfinding him should kill him.

And Cain went out from the presence of the Lord, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

Now the Harvest

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
