In the beginning
- God created the heaven and the earth.

the light
Day,

the darkness he called Night.
*
In beginning - - God created
And
God said,
Let
us
- make man
- in
our - image,
after our - likeness:
*
So
God created - man
in –
his own
image,
in - the
image of
God
-
created he
*
And
God said,
Let
the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed,
and
the fruit tree yielding
fruit after
his kind,
whose
seed is
in itself,
upon the earth:
*
and
it was so.
*
him;
*
and
there was
not a man to till the ground.
*
Let
us make
man
in our image, after our likeness:
*
And
the Lord - God - formed
man
of the dust of the ground,
and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;
and
man became
a living soul.
*
And
in process of time it came to pass,
**
And
the Lord God said,
It
is not good that the man should be alone;
I
will make - him -
an -help meet for - him
**
And
out of the ground
the Lord - God - formed every beast of the field,
and every fowl of the air;
and
brought them unto Adam to see
what
he would call them
**
in our - image,
man became
a living soul
*
And
Adam said,
This is
now bone of my
bones,:
*
And
Adam called
- his wife's -name
Eve;
because
she was the mother of all living.
*
And
Adam said,
and
flesh of
my flesh:
after
our
- likeness:
Unto Adam also
and - to
his wife - did
the Lord God make coats
of
skins,
and
clothed them.
**
And
Adam knew
-Eve
his wife; - and she
conceived,
and
bare Cain,
and
said,
I
have gotten a man from the Lord.
**
Unto Adam also
and to his wife
did
the Lord God make coats
of
skins,
and
clothed them.
*
And
she again bare his brother Abel.
And
Abel was a keeper of sheep,
*

but
Cain was a tiller of the ground.
that
Cain - brought of the fruit of the ground
- an offering unto the Lord.
Likeness
And
Abel,
he also brought of the firstlings
of his flock and
of the fat there-of.
And
the Lord had respect
unto Abel - and to his offering:
But
unto Cain - and to his offering he had not respect.
And
Cain was very wroth,
and
his countenance fell.
And
the Lord said unto Cain,
Why
art
– thou - wroth?
and
why is - thy countenance fallen?
If thou
doest well,
shalt
thou not
be accepted?
and if
thou
doest not well,
sin lieth
at the door.
And
unto thee
shall be his desire,
and
thou shalt rule over him.
And
Cain talked
with
Abel his brother:
***
Hear, O heavens,
and
give ear,
O earth:
for the Lord hath spoken,
I have
nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
**
and
it came to pass,
when
they were in the field,
that Cain rose up against Abel his brother,
and
slew him.
***
Terah
And
Nahor lived
nine and twenty years,
and
begat Terah: . . .
And
Terah lived seventy years,
and
begat Abram,
Nahor,
and
Haran.
***
And
Haran died
before his father
Terah in the land of his
nativity,
in Ur
of the Chaldees.
***
And
the Lord said
unto Cain,
Where
is Abel thy brother?
And
he said,
I
know not:
Am I my brother's keeper?
***
And
the Lord God said,
It
is not good that the man should be alone;
I
will make - him - an -help meet for - him
***
And
the Lord God took the man, and put
him into
the garden
of
Eden to dress it and
to keep it.
***
And
God said,
Let
the waters
bring
forth abundantly the moving creature
that hath life, and fowl that
may fly above the earth in the open
firmament
of heaven.
***
And
Adam knew
-Eve
his wife; - and she conceived,
and
bare Cain,
and
said,
I
have gotten a man from the Lord.
***
And
Adam knew his wife again;
and
she bare a son,
and
called his name – Seth:
For God,
said she,
hath
appointed me another seed instead
of Abel,
whom Cain slew.
***
And
to Seth,
to
him al-so there was born a son;
*
and
he called
his name
Enos: then began men
to call upon the name of the Lord.
And
Adam lived an
hundred and thirty years,
and
begat a
son
in his own
likeness,
after his image;
and
called his name Seth:
***
and
he took
one - of his ribs,
and closed up the flesh instead
thereof;
***
And
Terah took - Abram his son,
and Lot the son of Haran his son's son,
***
And
the rib,
which
the Lord God had taken from man,
made
he a workman,
and
- brought her unto
the man.
And
Adam said,
This
is
now bone of my
bones, and flesh of
my flesh:
she
shall be called Workman, because
she was taken out of Man.
***
And
Abram and Nahor
took them wives:
the name of Abram's wife was Sarai;
and
the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah,
the daughter of Haran,
the father
of
Milcah,
and
the father
of
Iscah.
But
Sarai was
barren;
she
had no child.
And
Terah took
Abram his son,
and
Lot the son of
Haran his son's - son,
and
Sarai his daughter in law,
his son
Abram's wife;
and
they went forth
with
them from Ur of the Chaldees,
to
go into
the land of Canaan;
and
they came unto Haran,
and
dwelt there.
**
And
the Lord God said,
It
is not good that the man should be alone;
I
will make - him - an -help meet for - him
***
And
God called
the light
- Day,
*
And
Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house,
that ruled over all that he
had,
Put,
I
pray
thee, thy
hand
under my thigh:
*
And
he said,
Cursed be Canaan;
*
And
I will make thee swear by the Lord, the God
of heaven,
and
the God of the earth,
that
thou shalt
not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites,
among whom I
dwell:
**
But Sarai was barren; she had no child.
**
But
thou
shalt go unto my
-(Sarai) – country
(Assyria), and
to my kindred,
and
- take a wife - unto my
son
Isaac.
And
the servant said unto him,
Peradventure the workman will not be willing to follow me
unto this
land:
**
Now
these are the
generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.
And Haran died
before his father Terah in the land of
his nativity,
in Ur of the Chaldees.
**
must I needs bring - thy
son again
unto the land from whence thou
camest?
And
Abraham said unto him,
Beware thou that thou bring not my son
thither again.
The Lord
God of heaven,
which
took me from
my
father's house,
and
from the land
of my kindred, and which spake unto me,
and
that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy
seed
will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee,
and thou
shalt
take a wife unto my son from thence.
*
And
Isaac entreated the Lord
for his wife, because
she was barren:
and
the Lord was entreated of him,
and
Rebekah his wife conceived.
And
the children
struggled together
within her;
and
she said,
If it be so,
why
am I thus?
And
she went to inquire of the Lord.
*
and
God divided the light -
from the darkness.
*
And
the Lord said unto her,
Two
nations are in thy
womb, and two manner
of people shall be separated - from thy bowels; and the one
people
shall be stronger than the other
people;
and
the elder shall serve the younger.
And
when her days to
be delivered were fulfilled,
behold,
there
were
twins in her womb.
**
and said,
God
hath taken away - my -reproach:
And
she called
his name
Joseph;
and
said,
The Lord
shall add
to
me
another son.
And
it came to pass, when Rachel had born Joseph,
**
Unto Adam also - and to his wife did the Lord - God make coats of skins,
and
clothed them.
**
Now
Israel loved Joseph more than
all
his children,
because
he was the son
of his old
age:
and
he made him a
coat of
many colours.
**
that Jacob said unto Laban,
Send
me away,
that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country.
Give
me - my wives and my children,
for
whom
I have served
thee,
and
let me go:
for
thou knowest my service
which I
have done thee.
**
And
Jacob was left alone;
and
there wrestled a man
with him - until the
breaking of
the day.
**
And
the waters prevailed,
and
were increased greatly
upon the earth;
and the ark
went upon the face
of
the waters.
And
the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth;
and
all the high
hills,
that were under the whole heaven, were covered.
**
(Read Law Origins)
**
Why,
seeing
times
are
not hidden from the Almighty,
do
they that know him not see his days?
Some remove the landmarks;
they violently
take away flocks,
and feed thereof.
They
drive away
the ass
of
the fatherless,
they
take
the widow’s ox for a pledge.
They
turn the needy out of the way:
the poor
of
the earth hide themselves
together.
**
And
the workman
said
unto the serpent,
We
may eat of
the fruit of the trees of the garden:
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden,
God
hath
said,
Ye shall not eat of it,
neither shall ye touch it, lest ye
die.
**
Fifteen
cubits upward did
the waters
prevail;
and
the mountains
were
covered.
And
all flesh died that
moved upon the earth,
both
of fowl,
and
of cattle,
and
of beast,
and
of every creeping thing that creepeth
upon the earth, and every man:
**
And
when he saw that
he prevailed
not
against him,
*
Put, I
pray
thee,
thy hand
under my thigh:
*
he
touched
the hollow
of
his thigh;
and the hollow of Jacob's thigh
- was
out of joint,
as
he wrestled with
him.
And
he said,
Let me go,
for
the day
breaketh.
And
he said,
I
will not let thee go,
except thou bless
me.
And
he said unto him,
What
is thy
name?
And
he said,
Jacob.
And
he said,
Thy
name shall be called no more Jacob,
**
I am the God of Abraham thy father:
**
but Israel:
for
as a prince hast thou power
with God and with men,
and
hast prevailed.
And
Jacob asked him,
and
said,
Tell
me,
I pray thee,
thy name.
And
he said,
Where-
fore is it that
thou
dost ask - after my name?
And
he blessed
him there.
**
And
Ham,
the father
of
Canaan,
saw
the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
*
And
Joseph went after his brethren,
and
found them in Dothan.
And
when they saw him afar off,
even
before he came near unto them,
**
And
the Lord set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him
should kill him.
**
they
conspired against him to
slay him.
And
they said one to another,
Behold,
this
dreamer cometh.
Come now
therefore,
and
let
us slay him,
and
cast him into some pit,
and
we will say,
Some evil beast hath devoured him:
and
we shall see what will become of his dreams.
. . .
And
it came to pass when Joseph was come unto his brethren,
that
they -
stripped Joseph out of his coat,
his coat of many colours that was on him;
And
they took him,
and
cast him into a pit:
and
the pit
was
empty,
there was no water in it.
And
they sat
down
- to
eat bread:
and
they lifted
up their eyes - and
looked,
and,
behold,
a
company of Ishmeelites
came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery - and balm and myrrh,
going
to carry it down to Egypt.
And
Judah said unto his brethren,
What
profit is
it if we slay
our brother,
and
conceal his blood?
Come,
and let us sell
him to the Ishmeelites,
and
let not our hand be upon him;
for
he is our brother and our flesh.
And
his brethren were content.
**
Then
again Abraham took a wife,
and
her name was Keturah.
And she bare him Zimran,
and
Jokshan,
and
Medan,
and
Midian,
and
Ishbak,
and
Shuah.
**
Then
there passed by Midianites,
merchantmen;
and
they drew
and lifted up Joseph out of
the pit,
and
sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver:
and
they brought Joseph
into Egypt.
**
And
Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand,
and
put it upon Joseph's hand,
and
arrayed him in vestures of fine linen,
and
put a gold chain about his neck;
And
he made him to ride in the second
chariot which he
had;
and they
cried before him,
**
I
do set my bow in
the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between
me and the earth.
And
it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud
over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
**
Bow the knee:
and
he made
him ruler over all the land of Egypt.
***
And
a certain ruler asked
him,
saying,
Good Master,
what shall I do
- to inherit eternal
life?
And
Emmanuel said
unto him,
Why
callest thou
me good?
none is good, save
one,
that is, God.
