Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a
fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:
The archers have sorely grieved
him, and shot at him, and hated him:
But his bow abode in strength, and
the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob;
(from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
Then was Daniel brought in before
the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art thou that Daniel, which
art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought
out of Jewry?
I have even heard of thee, that the
spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent
wisdom is found in thee.
The king answered unto Daniel, and
said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of gods, and a Lord of kings,
and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.
Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In
those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all
languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a
Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
The burden of the word of the Lord
in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes
of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the Lord.
